How to Send OutGoing Email From SBC DSL or Dialup Connections

Word Pro Systems' customers may send outgoing mail messages through SBCIS mail servers by converting the Outgoing mail(SMTP) to use SBC mail servers.
Please note: There should be no change made to the Incoming mail server(POP3).

1. Open Outlook
2. Select Tools > Accounts from the toolbar.
3. Select the Mail tab and then select the appropriate email account.

4. Click on the Properties button located on the right.
5. Select the Servers tag.
6. Change the Outgoing Mail(SMTP): to smtp.sbcglobal.yahoo.com.

Your screen should look like this:

7. Click on Settings at the bottom of the screen in the Outgoing Mail Server section.

8. Enter your SBC user name as the Account Name.
9. Enter your SBC password. Be sure to check the Remember Password checkbox.
10. Also check the Log on using Secure Password Authentication checkbox.

Your screen should look like this:

11. Click OK. This should return you to the previous screen.
12. At the bottom of this screen, click on the Apply button.
13. Click OK and close the screen.

Another solution for the Port 25 Filter is to request SBCIS remove the SMTP port 25 filter from the account. To request removal of the filter, an Abuse of Service form should be completed to contact the Abuse Team. On the form, under Abuse type be sure to check "Opt-Out Port 25". This form may be obtained at http://help.sbcglobal.net/servabuse.php.
